Change In Direction
After my last rant I guess it’s clear that I need a change in direction. Less involvement in controversial and troublesome subjects, even though I was the one calling for more people to stand up and be heard. Oh, well. Abbey was full of contradictions. Why can’t I be?
I have an idea, though. A way I can be true to my convictions with less Tabasco and habaneros.
For this website it means more Abbey. In fact, only Abbey. That means I’ll be posting less, but I will resurrect the podcast and start reading more Abbey selections. After I get a high quality mic, so you can hear it. It’s much better to hear Ed’s writing than read my rants about the environment, development, war, politics, fundamentalists and my own personal universe.
I mean, how much negative energy can you take!
So, if you want to read about Abbey or hear readings of his works, wander through every once in a while. Grab the feed through Feedburner or iTunes. Whatever works for ya.
Back to basics….
Sounds like a good idea. The opinions are still nice though so don’t scratch those completely, but more Abbey would be a welcome addition.
Nice photo! Is that Numa Ridge? I can’t see the landscape thru the window well enough to tell. We enjoyed hiking there in the early 90s and thinking Ed having been there. It’s a gorgeous place, and I highly recommend a visit. Have a great evening, Georgia
Its a line we all have to walk… how much do we want to beat our heads on the wall ad nauseum and how much do we want to try to be at peace, do no harm and, like Paul Bondi, dig out the irrigation ditch and grow sweet corn and cucumbers. I hope you find the place you and your family are looking for and the peace of mind this new direction will afford you. Of course (not to throw a big ol’ greazy monkeywrench in the gears here but…) at some point you may feel that tug on your sleeve, that itch that says this is too outrageous not to say something about. It would be nice for all of us though if those moments were fewer and farther apart, social responsibity is a wearisome hobby. So thanks for the site you’ve put together here and I look forward to seeing how it changes.
